About the role

  • As the Salesforce Developer you own our Salesforce platform end to end across our Australian and US orgs: design, build, configuration, integration and day-to-day administration.
  • You sit within the Data Engineering team and work closely with the Salesforce system owner in the Loyalty business, the Sales and Relationship Management teams, Marketing and Customer Service to turn business needs into reliable, well-tested Salesforce solutions.
  • The ideal candidate combines hands-on development skill (Apex, Lightning Web Components, Flow) with strong administration fundamentals, and can explain technical trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

Development and configuration

  • Design and build declarative automation using Flow Builder, and programmatic solutions in Apex, Lightning Web Components and SOQL where Flow is not sufficient.
  • Own the lead scoring and automated routing model, built in Flow Builder with formula fields and assignment rules, and evolve it as the business changes.
  • Create and maintain custom objects, fields (formula, roll-up summary, lookup), record types, page layouts and Lightning pages across Sales Cloud and Service Cloud, including Email-to-Case and case management.
  • Write and maintain Apex unit tests. Follow a version-controlled release process using Salesforce CLI and metadata deploys, our sandbox strategy (partial and AI development sandboxes), UAT sign-off, and production activation of Flows.

Integration and data

  • Own the integrations between Salesforce and our wider stack:
  • AWS AppFlow from the data lake (Amazon Redshift): keep data flowing reliably into Salesforce, including the matching and triage automation that runs on synced records. Work with the Data team on schema changes and data-quality issues.
  • Braze: work with the marketing team to support Braze related integrations.
  • AI sales agent: integrate and support our outbound AI agent in Salesforce, including activity logging for calls, SMS and email, escalation and handoff tasks to the sales team, and performance reporting against human teams.
  • Aircall: telephony integration, including call and SMS logging, screen pops and click-to-dial.
  • Zendesk: ticket visibility and data sync between support and Salesforce.
  • Deliver upcoming integrations on the systems roadmap, including Tealium for customer engagement data.
  • Build and support further integrations using REST and SOAP APIs, Platform Events and middleware as the business requires.
  • Perform data imports, mass updates and data-quality remediation using Data Loader or equivalent tooling.

Administration and support

  • Set up, deprovision and train users in both orgs. Maintain profiles, permission sets, roles and sharing rules following least-privilege principles.
  • Monitor platform health, security settings, API and storage limits, and upcoming Salesforce release changes.
  • Build reports and dashboards for stakeholders, including AI agent and sales performance reporting.
  • Run BAU support through the Salesforce Slack channel and the defect logging process. Triage and resolve issues and maintain a log of change requests and their progress.
  • Write and maintain user guides, release notes and technical design documentation for AU and US teams.

Stakeholder engagement

  • Gather and challenge requirements, recommend best-practice solutions and clearly communicate options, effort and risk.
  • Other Salesforce-related tasks as required.

Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years’ experience in a Salesforce Developer or Administrator role with substantial hands-on development.
  • Salesforce Platform Developer I certification. Salesforce Administrator certification is highly regarded, as is Platform Developer II or an Application Architect credential.
  • Demonstrated experience with Apex, Lightning Web Components, Flow Builder, SOQL and the Salesforce security model.
  • Experience building Apex integrations with external systems using Named Credentials and REST callouts.
  • Experience managing more than one Salesforce org, or a multi-region deployment.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce CLI, Git-based version control and a structured sandbox-to-production deployment process.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple requests and projects at once.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to have

  • Hands-on experience with Braze, Tealium or a comparable customer data or engagement platform.
  • Experience with AWS AppFlow, Redshift or other data warehousing tooling.
  • Experience with Aircall, Zendesk or similar telephony and support integrations.
  • Experience building or integrating AI agents (Agentforce, Einstein or LLM-based agents via APIs).
  • Experience in a fintech, payments or loyalty business.
