Role Overview:

  • A Salesforce Marketing Cloud Developer (SFMC)/ Marketing Automation Specialist is responsible for designing, building, and executing marketing automation campaigns leveraging Salesforce Marketing Cloud. They work closely with internal stakeholders, marketing, sales, and Tech teams to translate business requirements into efficient and effective automated marketing programs that drive engagement, leads, and revenue. The ideal candidate has strong technical capabilities within Salesforce Marketing Cloud and a deep understanding of digital marketing best practices

Key Responsibilities:

  • Solution Design & Development
    • Develop and implement end-to-end marketing solutions within Salesforce Marketing Cloud, including Email Studio, Journey Builder, Automation Studio, Cloud Pages, and other SFMC components.
    • Translate marketing and business requirements into technical solutions, ensuring alignment with broader organizational goals and Salesforce best practices.
    • Configure and maintain data extensions, segmentation strategies, and dynamic content, ensuring accurate targeting and personalization.
  • Campaign Execution & Automation
    • Build and maintain automated customer journeys using Journey Builder to nurture prospects and customers throughout their lifecycle.
    • Create reusable email templates, landing pages, and forms leveraging HTML, CSS, AMPscript, and personalizing fields where necessary.
    • Implement sophisticated segmentation, preference centres, and triggered sends to maximize engagement and deliver relevant experiences.
  • Data Management & Integration
    • Leverage Salesforce Connector or APIs to ensure seamless data flow between Salesforce Marketing Cloud and external systems (e.g., Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, data warehouses).
    • Manage subscriber data, import/export processes, and ensure data integrity.
    • Collaborate with data teams to ensure the correct data model is in place for advanced personalization and analytics.
  • Testing & Quality Assurance
    • Monitor campaign performance, identify trends, and recommend strategies for improvement (e.g., subject line testing, send-time optimization, audience segmentation).
    • Use A/B and multivariate testing to refine content, segmentation, and messaging continuously.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Marketing Automation & Campaign Management
    • Solid hands-on experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud (Email Studio, Journey Builder, Automation Studio, Cloud Pages).
    • Proven track record of building and executing multi-channel marketing campaigns (email, SMS, push notifications, social, etc.).
    • Ability to design data-driven journeys and personalization strategies for various customer lifecycle stages.
  • Technical Expertise
    • Strong AMPscript, SQL, HTML, and CSS knowledge for email and landing page development.
    • Familiarity with Salesforce integrations and APIs for data management and process automation
    • Experience with other programming languages like Python and JavaScript
  • Collaboration & Communication
    • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
  • Certifications (Preferred)
    • Salesforce certifications, such as Marketing Cloud Email Specialist, Marketing Cloud Developer, and Marketing Cloud Consultant, are highly valued.
