About the Role:
A Business Analyst is responsible for analyzing the company and client technology systems, processes, and data to elicit requirements, identify areas for improvement, and recommend solutions that align with the goals and objectives. They work at the intersection of technology and business to translate business requirements into technical specifications and communicate technical solutions to non-technical stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and own the elicitation process for all requirements end-to-end (technical, functional, and non-functional), utilizing various methodologies such as workshops, interviews, mapping as-is and to-be states, and user story creation.
- Collaborate with clients, product owners, solution architects, development leads, compliance, legal, and security subject matter experts to understand and shape technical solutions that align with the company and clients’ strategies.
- Work closely with business stakeholders to understand legal, compliance, security, financial, and operational considerations, ensuring that all solutions meet the necessary requirements and regulations.
- Work closely with designers on UX/UI to understand and analyze user journeys, ensuring a seamless experience for end-users.
- Define, document, and validate as-is and to-be technical solutions. Articulate system integration and data migration requirements, including building and maintaining data models. Create and write user stories for technical, functional, and non-functional requirements, and define the definition of ready, definition of done, and acceptance criteria. Validate these with relevant internal and external stakeholders, working closely with QA teams.
- Participate in testing and validating solutions to ensure that the company and clients’ requirements are performing as expected.
- Collaborate with QA teams to develop acceptance criteria.
- Manage the defect resolution process for deliverables; raise defects, document defects, prioritize defects with the company and clients’ product owners, and communicate status.
- Proactively raise risks, dependencies, and blockers early to help effectively resolve issues.
- Assist in the running of Agile teams through agreed Ways of Working and ceremony facilitation, working closely with delivery leads and cross-functional teams.
- Take meeting minutes during key discussions and ensure accurate documentation of decisions and action items.
Key Skills and Experience Required:
- Mastery of elicitation with the ability to understand and articulate business, technical, and non-functional requirements.
- Expert analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders and be client-facing when required.
- Strong understanding of software development processes and methodologies, from initial requirements through to release and operational handover.
- Strong understanding of the testing lifecycle, methodologies, and toolsets, with the ability to work effectively with QA teams.
- Strong ability to collaborate and influence the company’s stakeholders, clients, and cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work with business stakeholders to understand and address legal, compliance, security, financial, and operational considerations in all solutions.
- Background in engineering is desirable, with familiarity with languages such as PHP, Java, and comfort with API or other technology stacks.
- Excellent knowledge of data analysis and reporting tools such as SQL and Excel.
- Excellent understanding of collaboration tools like Confluence, Jira, Figma, and Miro.
Work Details:
- Shift: Monday to Friday, 6:00am- 3:00pm or 7:00am- 4:00pm, depending on business needs
- Location: Makati | * Work from home until further notice
- Status: Full time employment
