As the COVID-19 Pandemic accelerates, our medical front-liners were overwhelmed with the number of infected patients admitted to the hospital. Despite that, the Philippine Health Care system made it their priority to prevent the spread of infection in the country, often both patients and medical professionals relying on the effective use of personal protective equipment (PPE)—gloves, face masks, air-purifying respirators, goggles, face shields, respirators, and gowns.
However, as the census of patients rises, a critical shortage of this equipment developed in areas with high population and demand. PPE is now scarce and a luxurious commodity in many locations that it is needed. The increase in demand and supply decreased resulted in manufacturers increasing the price, making it unaffordable. Many medical frontliners opt to reuse their PPE in public hospitals, despite its disposable nature.
Thus, in solidarity with our medical frontliner and as part of its social responsibility program, Flexisource IT initiated a donation drive to collect monetary donations to Dr. Jose N. Rodriguez Memorial Hospital and Sanitarium (DJNRMHS).
Through the “Heroes in Times of COVID-10” Program of Flexicare, Flexisource IT and its employees were able to collect PhP 9,100.00 cash for PPE. The company was able to donate 100 Sets of PPE Suits, 1000 pcs of 3-Ply Face Mask, 100 pcs of Face shield to DJNRMHS last September 3, 2020, via our partner, the Rotary Club of Pasay Edsa.
The said donation will support the needs of Healthcare Frontliners in the community to fight the COVID-19 Pandemic.
Flexicare is the corporate social responsibility program of Flexisource IT that promotes advocacies, including environment, community outreach, and youth and education.
